Iowa department of corrections

With the mission to create opportunities for safer communities, the Iowa Department of Corrections partners with the Coalition as important members. Our collaboration is a bridge to connect and transform lives giving all Iowans a chance to shine bright.

Collectively, we believe that people can change and should be treated with dignity and respect. We work together, and with intention, to coordinate community support for returning citizens.

Ultimately, the goal of reentry resources and services is to make people and communities safer. Employment, housing, and healthcare provide a strong foundation for formerly incarcerated individuals. Successful reentry not only improves the lives of ex-offenders and their families, but the community-at-large.
